We are on day 12 of the 40-day fasting. We learned in this chapter that there was a priest named Eli. Eli had two children that did evil in the sight of God and Eli did not stop it. So, God punished that entire family. We must learn from this example. The Lord today encouraged us to fight for our families. We repented for how we raised our children as in any way we transgressed against the Lord. We learned that God is to come first before any of our children. We must speak truth to them as this honors God. We must explain the consequences of their decisions with sin because the Devil may be lying to them. Most people reason within their mind when they sin. They excuse their behavior so they need their loved ones to speak truth to them and wake them - smack them out of their stupor. (not literal). So, this morning we do a lot of repenting and praying as well.
